"The man, dressed in Crocs and sweatpants and determined by researchers to be the final catalyst in humanity's epic downfall, will then loudly expel gas."

At least your sportsbar outfit didn't signify the nadir of Western culture.

  2. But I was trying to bring about the end of Western civilization! Why do you think I'm teaching deconstruction in the first place :-)

  3. Oh the Onion, how you make me chuckle....anyhow, I sympathize with this over analytical grad student, as I also tend to read academic theory a bit too much into my academic life. I'd love to be able to watch 30 Rock without the wheels in my head running on gender and societal implications, satire, etc, and just enjoy it for what it is. After all, aren't things sometimes just what they are? Or nothing at all? Or everything? O God, I'm doing it again....:D
