There's a new restaurant on 14th Street in the U Street neighborhood across from Busboys & Poets.
It's called Eatonville as a tribute to Zora Neale Hurston!
Their menu has some classic Southern comfort food like, gumbo, a crispy chicken breast, and pecan pie!!
Sounds delicious, I know I'll be checking it out soon!
Class field trip?!?
ReplyDeleteI second that vote.
ReplyDeleteThat actually is not a bad idea, Alex. We should talk about this at some point. Remind me in class this week.
ReplyDeleteIn the meantime, here's a link to the restaurant's website.
That sounds awesome. Menu looks pretty tasty too.
ReplyDeleteI was just reading about the restaurant and it has gotten some excellent reviews so far and it is owned by the same man who owns Busboys and Poets. The food is supposed to be really good and consists of some of Zora’s actual favorites like shrimp and okra AND at a pretty cheap price as entrees range from $8-$15. Also, what seems to be one of the most interesting aspects of the restaurant (besides it being dedicated to Zora Neale Hurston of course) is that the drinks are served in mason jars! Definitely sounds like a place to check out.
